She further alleged that they are attempting to remove his presidential Secret Service detail to facilitate their plan.
Greene, a Republican from Georgia, argued that the numerous court cases Trump is currently facing, including an ongoing trial where he has pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts related to alleged hush money payments, are a deliberate attempt by Democrats to incarcerate Trump until his demise. "They want to lock him up in jail for the rest of his life so that he dies in jail," Greene told Jones. "And they want to take away his Secret Service protection so that he is murdered somewhere in jail, possibly. This is how serious they are."
Greene's comments were in response to a bill introduced last week by Mississippi Democrat Representative Bennie Thompson, the former chairman of the House January 6 Select Committee. The bill, known as the Denying Infinite Security and Government Resources Allocated toward Convicted and Extremely Dishonorable Former Protectees Act or the DISGRACED Act, aims to strip Secret Service protections from former government officials convicted of a felony. If passed, the Secret Service would be required to hand over protective duties to prison personnel.

"Unfortunately, current law doesn't anticipate how Secret Service protection would impact the felony prison sentence of a protectee - even a former President," Thompson said in an April 19 statement. "Therefore, it is necessary for us to be prepared and update the law so the American people can be assured that protective status does not translate into special treatment—and that those who are sentenced to prison will indeed serve the time required of them."

The bill has been co-sponsored by eight other Democrats. Greene, however, expressed her outrage at the legislation, which she believes Democrats are unapologetic about. "They literally want him dead," she continued. "Bennie Thompson introduced a bill to take away his Secret Service protection. That's how serious they are."

Greene also labeled the legal proceedings against Trump as 'rigged,' echoing the sentiments of the former president himself, who has referred to the legal proceedings as a 'witch hunt.' This is not the first time Greene has suggested that Democrats are attempting to eliminate Trump by imprisoning him. In a lengthy February post, she stated, "Biden’s DOJ is trying to put [President] Trump in prison for the rest of his life which would be a death sentence."

If Trump is convicted of the 34 felony counts he is facing in his hush money trial, he could potentially face a maximum sentence of 136 years. As the charges are state crimes in New York, only Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul could pardon him.
