Talk show host Bill Maher mockingly praised former President Donald Trump for "purging" the Republicans who voted to impeach him.

"Say what you want about Mr. Evil, but boy, what a politician. I mean, that's impressive — in an evil way, but still, impressive," Maher said during his Friday show. The host went on to predict that more Republicans will lose their elections.

"There are 10 members of Congress who voted to impeach him and he vowed to knock them off — it's so Tarantino movie, he's going to get all 10! He got eight out of 10," the commentator said.

Hitherto, 8 out of the 10 Republicans in the House who voted to impeach Trump will not return to Congress next year. Four of the eight lost a primary — including Liz Cheney, while four wanted to retire.

Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-WA), Cheney, Rep. Peter Meijer (R-MI), and Rep. Tom Rice (R-SC) have all been defeated. Rep. Anthony Gonzalez (R-OH), Rep. John Katko (R-NY), Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), and Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI) retired. Meanwhile, the only two survivors are Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA) and Rep. David Valadao (R-CA).

Maher also went on to hail the former president's supportive power, noting all the members of Congress who have won races following Trump's endorsement.

"Eighty-five percent of the people Trump endorsed won: 151 out of 178," Maher said.

The talk show host has long slammed Trump throughout his show, oftentimes mocking the former president with an impersonation.

President Joe Biden called Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) after the incumbent lost her reelection bid earlier this week.

The call was made on Wednesday, one day after the race was determined in favor of Trump-backed Harriet Hageman, according to Bloomberg. It’s not clear what the discussion covered, but it came hours after Cheney suggested a presidential run in 2024.

“I will be doing whatever it takes to keep Donald Trump out of the Oval Office,” Cheney told NBC's Today show on Wednesday. “That's a decision that I'm going to make in the coming months. I'm not going to make any announcements here this morning, but it is something that I am thinking about."

Cheney also teased at a presidential bid during her concession speech on Tuesday, stressing the fact that Abraham Lincoln lost elections before later becoming President.

“The great and original champion of our party, Abraham Lincoln, was defeated in elections for the Senate and the House before he won the most important election of all,” she said. “Lincoln ultimately prevailed. He saved our union, and he defined our obligation as Americans for all of history.”
