It is reported that the man who tossed Molotov Cocktails at Capitol Police last week was a progressive whose social media was filled with anti-conservative posts, that might explain why the mainstream media simply mentioned the arrest and moved on.

Bernard McCutcheon, 26, was busted soon after 3:30 PM after he attempted to escape two officers after throwing the crude device, according to the US Capitol Police.

The other Molotov cocktail, which he dropped, was a tequila bottle loaded with a sock and a petroleum-based accelerant, according to authorities.

Police don’t think McCutcheon was aiming at any congressperson or the US Capitol. He was also not involved in any protest, police explained.

Two other bottles of liquid in his bookbag were further recovered at the scene, police stated. The two Capitol Police officers were treated for minor injuries.

“Thankfully they are going to be ok,” announced acting Assistant Chief of Police for Uniformed Operations Sean Gallagher in a statement. “We appreciate their quick action that, without a doubt, kept the community safer.”

McCutcheon, of Washington, DC, was charged with two counts of assault on a police officer, one count of possession of a Molotov cocktail, and one count of assault with a lethal weapon.

Almost a third of the victims were shot in ambush-style attacks. There have been 35 ambush-style attacks in 2022, ending in 57 officers shot, of whom 12 were murdered.

The numbers are alarming, according to Patrick Yoes, president of the National Fraternal Order of Police.

“Make no mistake — we are experiencing a real crisis with the level of violence directed at law enforcement officers,” Mr. Yoes announced. “It is unlike anything I’ve seen in my 36 years of law enforcement.”

Shootings of police officers have proceeded to increase in recent years. Last year, 346 officers were shot, killing 63 in the line of duty.

“Last year was one of the most dangerous years for law enforcement, with more officers shot in the line of duty than any other since the National Fraternal Order of Police began recording this data,” Mr. Yoes announced.
