As CNN still reels from a handful of controversies over the past few months. Thus, a new poll conducted by Rasmussen Reports has dealt a blow, revealing just how few Americans tune in to the cable news network's coverage on a daily basis.

In response to questions in regards to how frequently they watch CNN, only 8 percent of respondents confirmed that they watch CNN "every day."

48 percent of likely U.S. voters said that they rarely or never watch CNN, while another 23 percent said they only occasionally watch the channel. 8 percent said they watch CNN once per week, and 11 percent said they watch several times each week.

The lack of consistent viewers comes in the wake of the most recent controversy at the network. CNN President Jeff Zucker stepped down from his post after he failed to disclose a romantic relationship with CNN's Executive Vice President and chief marketing officer Allison Gollust. Two producers for CNN shows were fired last year amidst allegations of sexual abuse of minors and soliciting photos from underage girls.

Most prominently, popular CNN host Chris Cuomo was fired in December when it was revealed that he had played a larger part in defending his brother, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, amidst allegations of sexual misconduct. The Rasmussen poll asked likely voters if Zucker's departure from the outlet would be good or bad, with 58 percent declaring "it will not make much difference."

Rasmussen commented, "Distrust of the news media remains high, as 58% of voters agree with former President Donald Trump’s statement that the media are ‘truly the enemy of the people,’ a finding unchanged since last July. Twenty-nine percent (29%) now strongly agree with Trump’s description of the media, slightly down from July. Thirty-seven percent (37%) of voters disagree with the claim that the media are ‘the enemy of the people,’ including 22% who strongly disagree."
