The migrants caught crossing the U.S.-Mexico border at the sector are not only from South American countries but many have been seen coming from Africa and the Middle East.
Eritrea, Lebanon, Uzbekistan, Lebanon and Tajikistan — next door to Taliban-controlled Afghanistan — were some of the apprehended migrants' countries.
October at the Del Rio border sector alone saw over 28,000 illegal migrants apprehended from 50 different countries.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued a statement on Tuesday outlining the countries of origin for the apprehended migrants.
"We encounter individuals from all over the world attempting to illegally enter our country," Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Jason D. Owens stated in the release. "Our agents are focused and work hard to ensure that we detect, arrest, and identify anyone that enters our country in order to maintain [the] safety of our communities."

The apprehended migrants illustrate the compounding crisis at the southern border that the Biden Administration has largely ignored.

Border Patrol agents assigned to Del Rio Sector reportedly arrested three convicted sex offenders between the dates Nov. 25-27.
On Nov. 25, Carrizo Springs Station agents identified a Mexican man who was previously convicted in Texas of injury to a child with the intent of bodily harm and sentenced to three years. He was last removed from the United States in June 2019.

The following day, Eagle Pass South Station agents identified a man from Nicaragua who, in 2016, was convicted of non-responsive cruelty to a juvenile in Louisiana and sentenced to eight years of labor. He was last removed from the United States in October 2019.

Then, on Nov. 27, Brackettville Station agents identified another Mexican man who was a member of the Paisa Gang. In 2001, he was convicted of sex with a minor and sentenced to two years in prison. The subject was convicted of driving without a license and driving under the influence in 2006 and sentenced to three years’ probation. In 2008, he was convicted of inflicting corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant, driving while license suspended, and driving under the influence. He was sentenced to three years’ probation and 45 days in jail. He was last removed from the United States in August 2021.
