On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong made history by becoming the first human to ever set foot on the Moon. Part of the Apollo 11 mission, Armstrong, as commander, along with lunar module pilot Buzz Aldrin and command module pilot, successfully landed the Apollo Lunar Module Eagle on the lunar surface. The mission lasted for a total of 8 days, 3 hours, 18 minutes and 35 seconds.
