Renowned Jewish actor and comedian Jon Lovitz has publicly criticized the anti-Israel protestors who have been causing disturbances at Columbia University and other academic institutions across the United States.

In a recent social media post, Lovitz questioned the intellectual capacity of the students involved in these demonstrations, which have been escalating on the university campus for the past week. He further suggested that these student protestors are merely puppets being manipulated by their left-leaning educators.

Lovitz, who gained fame as a member of the Saturday Night Live cast, posted on Monday, "To the students at @Columbia, and any other students at colleges across the United States, blocking Jewish kids from entering the school to go to class: You're supposed to be smart. You're blaming your 18-year-old classmates from the US for the actions of the government of Israel?"

The comedian further questioned the education these students are receiving, stating, "What the hell are you being taught?" He urged them to "Think logically and quit being sheep & being used by your professors."

Lovitz's post quickly gained traction on the social media platform, garnering over a million views and thousands of supportive comments.

The protests at Columbia University commenced when demonstrators set up an encampment on the campus last Wednesday, refusing to leave. These protestors have been marching in and around the campus, demanding the university sever ties with groups that support Israel amid its ongoing conflict with Hamas in Gaza.

In the aftermath of the October 7 massacre in Israel by Hamas, Lovitz shared his personal experiences with antisemitism within the Hollywood industry.

In a November interview with Fox News Digital, Lovitz revealed that the antisemitism he has encountered in Hollywood often came from other Jewish individuals. He stated, "And I've just had others where people say to me antisemitic stuff, and they're Jewish and in show business, and it's disgusting." He further noted that he has never experienced antisemitism from any of his non-Jewish friends in Hollywood, describing the situation as "very weird."
