Ohio law enforcement authorities have released bodycam footage that reveals a chilling phone conversation between a detective and a suspect believed to be the mastermind behind a tragic Uber driver shooting.

The footage, obtained by CNN Wire, shows the suspect impersonating a police officer during the call.

The video captures the moments following the alleged shooting of Uber driver Loletha Hall by 81-year-old William Brock. The footage reveals a phone conversation between Detective Cruz of the Clark County Sheriff's Office and the alleged scammer.

In the recorded conversation, Detective Cruz inquires, "May I ask who I'm talking to?" The suspect responds, "Yes, this is the officer speaking." When Cruz presses for clarification, asking, "Okay, what officer?" the suspect merely replies, "Yes." Cruz persists, "No, I need to know what officer sir," to which the suspect ominously warns, "You're gonna be in trouble."

Cruz then shifts the conversation to the victim, asking, "The female you sent over here, you know who she is?" The suspect confidently replies, "Yes I do." Cruz then identifies himself as a detective with the Clark County Sheriff's Office and informs the suspect that Hall has been involved in an accident.

The suspect agreed to meet with authorities but failed to appear, according to ABC Chicago.

Brock, a resident of South Charleston, Ohio, is accused of fatally shooting 61-year-old Hall on March 25. The Clark County prosecutor alleges that Brock mistakenly believed Hall was part of a scam ring that had been attempting to extort him.

Authorities maintain that Hall was also a victim of the scammers, who had dispatched her to Brock's residence via the Uber app to collect a package. Brock reportedly told police that he believed Hall was associated with the scammers who had been incessantly calling him that morning, demanding a payment of $12,000.

Brock has been arrested and charged with three counts of felony murder, one count of felony kidnapping, and one count of felony assault. He was later released on a $200,000 bond.

Dashcam footage reportedly captured the fatal confrontation, showing Brock allegedly shooting Hall multiple times outside his home. Hall was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries during surgery.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the scam. Authorities are actively working to track down the culprits behind the deadly incident.
