Iran's chief diplomat, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, has downplayed the recent Israeli attack on his nation, likening the weapons used to "toys" and indicating no immediate plans for retaliation.

The comments were made during an interview with NBC News, mere hours after the strike.

Amir-Abdollahian dismissed the incident, stating, "What happened last night wasn’t a strike. They were more like toys that our children play with — not drones." He further added, "As long as there is no new adventurism by Israel against our interests, then we are not going to have any new reactions."

The Foreign Minister also expressed skepticism about Israel's involvement, despite not suggesting any alternative culprits. He warned, "If Israel takes a decisive action against my country and this is proven to us, our response will be immediate and to the maximum and will cause them to regret it."

The Israeli strike, which took place early Friday, was reportedly a limited response to a missile and drone attack launched by Tehran against Israel the previous Saturday. A military source informed Fox News that the strike was "limited," with no reports of significant damage or casualties.

The attack triggered explosions in Iran's Isfahan province, home to Natanz, one of Iran's nuclear facilities. However, Iranian state media reassured that the nation's atomic sites were "fully safe" and unaffected by the missiles.

This claim was later corroborated by the International Atomic Energy Agency, a United Nations affiliate watchdog organization, which confirmed "there is no damage to Iran’s nuclear sites."
