The fourth day of former President Donald Trump's 'hush money' trial in New York City was marked by high drama, with a left-wing protester setting himself ablaze outside the courthouse.

The day also saw the selection of 12 jurors and the seating of five additional alternate jurors.

A particularly poignant moment occurred when a potential juror, visibly distressed, revealed her connections to Trump's ex-lawyer, Michael Cohen, a convicted perjurer, and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. "I feel so nervous and anxious right now," she confessed, tears streaming down her face. "I don't want to waste the court's time. I thought I could do this. This is so much more stressful than I thought it was going to be." The judge subsequently excused her from duty.

According to Fox News, the woman disclosed that her father is a lifelong friend of Christie, who ran against Trump in the 2016 and 2024 Republican primaries. She also mentioned that she is employed at the same firm as Cohen's son, although their paths have never crossed. Initially confident in her ability to remain impartial, she later admitted that she could not, leading to her dismissal.

The judge invited her to the bench for a brief conversation, following which she was excused.
