Arizona's liberal voting laws have been criticized for potentially enabling non-citizens, regardless of their legal status, to register and vote in the 2024 presidential election.

This issue was brought to light in a recent interview with Nick Kupper, a retired U.S. Air Force master sergeant and candidate for the Arizona House of Representatives’ District 25, conducted by The Gateway Pundit.

Kupper expressed his deep concern about the implications of these laws on the forthcoming presidential race. "In Arizona, even if the state can’t verify whether you’re a citizen, people can still assert that they are citizens," Kupper said. He further clarified that while these individuals are barred from participating in state elections, they are still eligible to vote in federal elections, including the presidential race.

In a post dated April 16 on X, Kupper highlighted the potential impact of these laws on the election outcome. He noted, "In 2020 Biden got 73% of the federal only votes & Trump lost AZ by 10K votes. There are now over 32K federal only voters in AZ which would give Biden 15K more votes than Trump in 2024."

Kupper also criticized the current administration for its perceived role in exacerbating the situation. "I think it’s pretty telling that the current president is allowing, enabling, and encouraging people to come across the border, as I’m sure he and his administration know that these kinds of rules are on the books in Arizona," he said. He emphasized the need for change, given Arizona's significant role in federal elections.

Kupper further pointed out the potential distortion of electoral representation due to the inclusion of non-citizens in census counts. "When censuses are being done, they’re not only counting the citizens of Arizona but also counting noncitizens and illegals," he explained. He argued that this practice could influence the apportionment of electoral votes and shape voting districts, often to the advantage of Democrat strongholds.

The issue of illegal border crossings, according to Kupper, is multifaceted. While acknowledging the humanitarian concerns for migrants risking their lives to reach America, he also highlighted the presence of criminal elements among them, including drug smugglers, sex traffickers, and terrorists.

Kupper expressed his alarm at the scale of illegal immigration into Arizona, equating it to an invasion. He criticized the Biden administration for its perceived inaction in curbing the influx of illegal immigrants. He also raised concerns about the role of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Mexico, some of which, he claimed, are instructing immigrants to vote for Joe Biden in the upcoming U.S. election, while others are facilitating their journey to the U.S.

"Encouraging them to come across the border to vote for Joe Biden isn’t all sunshine and roses," Kupper said. He argued that many of these immigrants, being in the country illegally, struggle to find legitimate employment, and are thus being misled.

Kupper concluded by expressing his belief that conservative voters are being disproportionately affected by these policies. "Conservatives are getting the short end of the stick, [because] Democrat policies are overtly hurting Republicans more than they are Democrats," he said. He explained that Republicans, who statistically contribute more to the tax system, are effectively funding the programs that enable illegal immigrants.
