On Wednesday, Representative Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) was questioned by a Fox News reporter about an Islamic Al-Quds Day rally held in her district.

The Congresswoman, a Palestinian-American known for her staunch anti-Israel stance, declined to comment on the rally where participants were heard chanting "Death to America" and drawing parallels between the U.S. and Nazi Germany.

The International Al-Quds Day Rally took place in Dearborn, Michigan. Protesters were heard chanting "Death to America!" and speakers at the rally labeled America as one of the "rottenest countries" on Earth. They also equated Israel with ISIS, Nazis, and a cancer.

Fox News reporter Hillary Vaughn attempted to solicit Tlaib's opinion on the chants, leading to a heated exchange between the two. Tlaib accused Fox News of being "Islamaphobic" and refused to engage in the conversation.

The transcript of their interaction reads as follows:

TLAIB: I don’t talk to people that use racist tropes.

VAUGHN: Why can’t you just say whether or not you condemn people chanting ‘Death to Amer…’ Why are you afraid to talk to Fox News?

In November of last year, the House of Representatives voted to censure Tlaib following a statement she released after the October 7th attacks. In her statement, she labeled Israel as an apartheid state and expressed her grief for the Palestinian and Israeli lives lost. She also emphasized her commitment to fight for a future where everyone can live in peace, with equal rights and human dignity.

Since then, Tlaib has further solidified her stance by displaying a Palestinian flag outside her office and declining to answer questions about atrocities committed by Hamas.

In February, Tlaib encouraged her constituents to vote against Joe Biden in the Michigan Democratic primary due to his tepid support for Israel. Her advice was heeded by a surprisingly large number of voters.

"We don't want a country that supports wars and bombs and destruction. We want to support life. We want to stand up for every single life killed in Gaza,” she stated at the time.
