As the countdown to the 2024 presidential election continues, President Joe Biden faces a challenging landscape.

A series of polls from various organizations reveal a range of voter concerns that could potentially undermine the 81-year-old president's bid for re-election.

These concerns range from the escalating issue of illegal immigration to the adverse effects of Biden's economic policies on the American working class. There is also a growing apprehension among likely voters about the possibility of Biden not surviving a second term, which would result in Vice President Kamala Harris assuming the presidency.

A recent poll conducted exclusively for the Daily Mail reveals that only 38 percent of likely voters believe Biden would survive another four-year term. This suggests that 36 percent of respondents anticipate the possibility of Harris becoming president. Although Biden's age is a significant concern for many voters, the same cannot be said for former President Donald Trump, who is only four years younger than Biden.

James Johnson, co-founder of J.L. Partners, the firm that conducted the poll, offered a candid assessment. He stated, "Voters think Biden is too old, and they are not changing their minds. The difficulty for Biden is that views of him are not shaped through events such as his State of the Union address — which people who had seen it felt was fiery — but through consumption of the hundreds of viral social media clips of Biden stumbling and slurring."

Johnson further noted that this perception of Biden being too old and weak is a significant hurdle for him as the November election approaches. He added, "Frankly, they do not think he is up to the job — and that makes his re-election a much harder task."

While some voters may not agree with everything Trump says or does, they are likely to prioritize issues such as Supreme Court nominations and border security when casting their votes. Trump has consistently criticized Biden as unfit for office due to his age and perceived cognitive decline. At a Georgia rally in mid-March, Trump remarked, "Everything Joe Biden touches turns to sh*t." He also took the opportunity to mock Biden's stutter.

A separate poll conducted by DailyMail and J.L. Partners involving 1,000 likely voters found that Trump has maintained a four-point lead over Biden since December. This ongoing lead, coupled with the various concerns surrounding Biden's age and cognitive abilities, paints a challenging picture for the incumbent president as the 2024 election draws nearer.
