The "Women's Caucus" post, which my colleague Brandon Morse has pointed out, was tone-deaf to the fact that social justice policies are largely to blame for the current crisis. Farias' attempt to echo their demands only served to invite responses highlighting some uncomfortable truths.

The responses to Farias' query were swift and pointed. One user posted a news article about men being arrested and charged for intervening in violent situations, while another shared a cartoon illustrating the paradox of the left's stance on masculinity. The cartoon depicted a man being criticized for not intervening in a violent situation, and then being arrested when he did intervene.

This paradox is at the heart of the left's anti-masculine movement. They demand that men step in to protect women from violent criminals, yet they also discourage traditionally masculine responses to threats or attacks. It's no wonder that many men choose to mind their own business rather than align themselves with the "Women's Caucus."

Farias' stance is contradictory. She seems to want men to behave in a traditionally masculine way by defending women, but she also seems to support the punishment of men who do exactly that.

In the past, it was understood that criminals who threatened women and children risked serious consequences if someone intervened. This understanding acted as a deterrent against such behavior. However, the current climate seems to favor the criminal over the good Samaritan, creating a situation where criminals feel emboldened to act with impunity.

This is not to suggest that men should form vigilante groups to combat assault. Rather, it is to argue that if a brave man chooses to intervene in an assault, the criminal should not expect to be protected. If the criminal is uncomfortable with the risks involved, they should refrain from committing assault.

Farias and her social justice allies need to reconsider their demands. They have created an environment that criminalizes masculinity and the protection of others. They have no right to demand anything from men after fostering such a climate. They wanted this, and now they are reaping the consequences.
