Ronna McDaniel, the former chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC), has found herself in a precarious position after being ousted from NBC News following a backlash from the network's on-air talent.

This comes on the heels of her forced resignation from the RNC, leaving her in a state of political limbo.

President Donald Trump, the GOP front runner, did not mince words in his critique of McDaniel, who had previously expressed reservations about his potential nomination as the Republican presidential candidate. "Wow! Ronna McDaniel got fired by Fake News NBC," Trump stated on Truth Social. "She only lasted two days, and this after McDaniel went out of her way to say what they wanted to hear. It leaves her in a very strange place, it's called NEVER NEVERLAND, and it's not a place you want to be. These Radical Left Lunatics are CRAZY, and the top people at NBC ARE WEAK. They were BROKEN and EMBARRASSED by LOW RATINGS, HIGHLY OVERPAID, 'TALENT.' BRING BACK FREE AND FAIR PRESS - MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN 2024!"

McDaniel's tenure at NBC was short-lived, with her only appearance on the network causing an uproar among other on-air personalities. Following her appearance on Meet the Press with Kristen Welker, the hashtag #BoycottMeetThePress began trending on social media. Welker clarified to viewers that she had no involvement in McDaniel's booking.

Keith Olbermann, a former MSNBC anchor, expressed his disapproval of McDaniel's hiring on social media, stating, "The person they hired to sh*t on the (admittedly damaged) reputation of NBC News denied the honesty of the 2020 election and called the company's opinion hosts propagandists. #fireRonna."

Despite the backlash, Carrie Budoff Brown, head of NBC News' politics and elections reporting, defended McDaniel, highlighting her insights on national issues and the GOP. "It couldn’t be a more important moment to have a voice like Ronna’s on the team," Brown penned in a memo. "As we gear up for the longest general election season in recent memory, she will support our leading coverage by providing an insider’s perspective on national politics and on the future of the Republican Party—which she led through some of the most turbulent and challenging moments in political history."

Prior to her departure from the RNC, McDaniel met with Trump. Lara Trump, Trump's daughter-in-law, and Michael Whatley, former RNC chair of North Carolina, have since assumed joint leadership of the RNC.
