Sacha Baron Cohen, the renowned British actor and comedian, has responded to allegations made by Australian actress Rebel Wilson in her forthcoming memoir, "Rebel Rising."

Wilson had previously hinted at a challenging working experience with an unnamed co-star, whom she later identified as Cohen.

A representative for Cohen issued a statement to TMZ, refuting Wilson's claims. "While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence. Including contemporaneous documents, film footage, and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of The Brothers Grimsby," the statement read.

Wilson, 44, had earlier alleged that Cohen, 52, was the celebrity who had threatened her over the release of her memoir. The actress, best known for her role in the "Pitch Perfect" series, had dedicated an entire chapter of her book to her experience working with Cohen on the 2016 action-comedy film "Grimsby."

In a recent Instagram post, Wilson wrote, "I will not be silenced by high priced lawyers or PR crisis managers. The a****** I am talking about in ONE CHAPTER of my book is: Sacha Baron Cohen." This post followed her previous allegations that a celebrity she once worked with was attempting to suppress the publication of her memoir.

Wilson further claimed that the unnamed celebrity had hired a crisis PR manager and lawyers in an attempt to prevent press coverage of her book. "He is trying to stop press coming out about my book. But the book WILL come out and you will all know the truth," she stated.

In a video shared on Instagram on March 15, Wilson revealed that she had dedicated a chapter in her book to a "massive a******" she had worked with in Hollywood. She also hinted that she would eventually name the male colleague, whose alleged behavior had led her to adopt a "no a******s policy" on set.

"When I first came to Hollywood, people were like, 'Yeah, I have a no-a******s policy that means, like, I don't work with a******s.' I was like, 'Yeah, I mean, that sounds sensible and logical.' But then it really sunk in what they were meaning by that, older people in the industry. Because I worked with a massive a******, and, yeah, now I definitely have a no-a******s policy," Wilson wrote.

"Do you want to know who is the biggest a****** I've ever worked with in Hollywood? Chapter 23 lists it all out! Do you wanna know why I have a 'no a******s' policy now with people I work with? I wrote about an a****** in my book. Now, said a****** is trying to threaten me. He’s hired a crisis PR manager and lawyers. Well it's all in the book: REBEL RISING available for pre-order now (drops April 2nd, link in bio)… oh and YES I name the a******!" she added.

Wilson and Cohen had starred together in "Grimsby," which also featured Mark Strong, Gabourey Sidibe, and Isla Fisher, Cohen's wife. The film, however, was not well-received by critics and underperformed at the box office, earning approximately $28 million against a budget of $35 million, according to Box Office Mojo.

In a 2016 interview, Cohen had spoken about casting Wilson as his love interest in the film, instead of his wife and co-star Fisher. He joked that his decision to cast Wilson was due to "problems at home."

In a 2015 interview with news.com.au, Wilson had described filming intimate scenes with Cohen as "disgusting." "I had a sex scene with Sacha Baron Cohen and it was just the most disgusting thing ever," she said while attending LA Fashion Week.

In an interview with The Australian Women's Weekly, Wilson revealed that her character in "Grimsby" would wear a burqa in one scene. However, she insisted that it was all in the name of comedy and she did not intend to offend anyone. "Obviously, I don’t mean any offence to Muslims. I asked my Muslim friend 'Do you think this is alright, to tell the joke we’re telling?' And she said yeah," Wilson told the publication.
