Speaking on NBC News NOW’s “Meet the Press NOW,” Rubio stated, “I think anybody who would be offered that should be honored, but I’ve never spoken to anybody in the Trump world about it.”
The Senator was also questioned about any direct communication with Trump regarding the potential vice-presidential nomination. Rubio clarified that he had not had any such discussions with the former President or "anybody in his campaign."
NBC News has suggested that Rubio is gaining traction as a potential running mate for Trump, citing six sources familiar with the former President's search for a vice-presidential candidate.
In late February, Trump confirmed a list of potential vice-presidential candidates, including Senator Tim Scott from South Carolina, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Representative Byron Donalds from Florida, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, and former Hawaii Representative Tulsi Gabbard, who was previously a Democrat.
