In a recent incident at the Capitol, Georgia's Republican Representative Mike Collins was seen in a video, shared on his official X account, confronting pro-Palestinian demonstrators who had been pursuing him through the congressional corridors.

The protesters were demanding an end to his support for Israel, which has been engaged in military operations following a devastating terrorist attack by Hamas on October 7 in southern Israel. This attack resulted in over 1,200 fatalities and more than 200 hostages.

In the video, Collins initially appeared amicable towards the protesters, but his demeanor changed as their approach became increasingly hostile. "Hamas big mad," he remarked. The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has pledged a response to the Hamas attack that will "echo for generations." He authorized an operation on Friday to dispatch Israeli forces into Rafah, a known Hamas stronghold in the southern Gaza Strip.

In the video, Collins posed a question to the protesters, "You hate Jewish people?" One demonstrator, wearing a red shirt emblazoned with the words "Genocide my red line," retorted that they were Jewish. Collins then asked another protester, who was wearing a head covering, "What do you think about October the 7th?" The video did not capture the protester's response.

"We protect Israel, and God will bless us," Collins stated later in the video. The conflict between Israel and Hamas has sparked numerous protests, disrupting operations in a House office building on October 18. Republican Representative Chuck Fleischmann of Tennessee also had a heated exchange with protesters on March 6.
