The father of Laken Riley, a nursing student tragically murdered last month with an illegal immigrant as the prime suspect, made a heartfelt plea in the Georgia State Senate on Wednesday.

Jason Riley urged Governor Brian Kemp to take decisive action, stating, “declare an invasion" and to "detain and deport criminal illegal" immigrants to prevent further families from enduring such tragedies.

Jose Ibarra, 26, identified as an "active member" of the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang, stands accused of the murder of Laken Riley. Jason Riley implored lawmakers to enact reforms to safeguard more Americans from harm, expressing his anguish, “I stand before you, a heartbroken man. Part of my purpose has been taken. God gave me a beautiful daughter to father, protect, provide for and nurture. A man with an evil heart stole her life. He was in this country and in this state illegally.”

Addressing the chamber, Riley emphasized the need for protection against what he termed an "illegal invasion," highlighting the presence of over a million illegal aliens in the state causing anxiety among families. He attributed his daughter's tragic fate to the sanctuary city policies of Athen-Clarke, Georgia, stressing the urgency for change.
