The University of Memphis has become a hotbed of controversy and potential violence due to the scheduled appearance of Kyle Rittenhouse at a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) chapter event.

The event has attracted the attention of Black Lives Matter protestors, who have taken to the campus to express their disapproval.

Footage shared by TPUSA Frontlines and Julio Rosas reveals protestors chanting "Kyle is a killer," a clear reference to Rittenhouse's self-defense case. The protestors were also seen entering the event venue, marking the seats with the names of the men involved in Rittenhouse's case. Despite the escalating tension, university officials reportedly did not intervene.

In a further escalation, the TPUSA chapter president at the university was doxxed by the protestors, who shared his phone number and address on social media, according to TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk.

The TPUSA event, which had been approved by the university since mid-February, was scheduled to take place on Wednesday. However, in the days leading up to the event, university officials informed the TPUSA chapter that their ticketing methods were not "fair and equitable." In response, the chapter President met with school officials and agreed to post a new ticketing link for the event. However, this move backfired when protestor groups got hold of the link and shared it with their followers.

TPUSA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet expressed his disappointment with the university's handling of the situation. "The University of Memphis has taken unprecedented actions to undermine our event. Seizing control of seating arrangements and the ticketing system —on the day of the event— has never happened in our many years of campus organizing. Despite being promised control over 50 seats, we’re now restricted to just a single row of 8 seats," Kolvet said.

Kolvet also raised concerns about the university's alleged involvement in sabotaging the event. "Most shockingly, we have gathered credible information that school administrators have leaked the new ticketing information to protester groups so they can reserve large numbers of newly issued tickets and sabotage the event," he added.
