A Chicago resident, who identifies as a Biden voter, expressed her frustration over the ongoing migrant crisis during a recent episode of the TOBT Show.

She criticized the government's handling of the situation, arguing that it is financially straining the citizens of Chicago.

"We, the taxpayers, have already shelled out $32 million from our taxes to provide housing and care for the migrants," she stated. "The fact is, only those who arrived here after August are eligible for asylum. Yet, we are expected to support them for five to seven years while their paperwork is being processed. Why not send them back? Venezuela has already refused to take them back."

In response to her outburst, one of the show's hosts questioned her voting choices. "Who did you vote for?" he asked. Unfazed, she admitted to voting for President Biden. The host then pointedly blamed her for the current migrant influx, stating, "This migrant influx that we're dealing with right now is your fault."

According to the City of Chicago's dashboard, over 37,000 migrants have arrived in the city since August 21, 2022. In response, the city has set up 23 temporary shelters, including space at O'Hare Airport, to accommodate the influx. However, the city has recently begun evicting thousands of migrants from these shelters.

The migrant crisis has escalated since President Biden took office in January 2021. Data from Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reveals that migrant encounters surged from over 400,000 during former President Trump's last year in office to over 1.7 million in the 2021 fiscal year. The numbers continued to rise, exceeding 2 million in the 2022 and 2023 fiscal years, and have already reached nearly 1 million in the 2024 fiscal year.
