An American Airlines flight was compelled to execute an emergency landing at the Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday evening, following a potential mechanical malfunction reported by the pilot.

The flight, numbered 345, had embarked on its journey from Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas. The aircraft involved in the incident was a Boeing 777, according to a statement released by American Airlines on Thursday.

The airline further clarified, "The aircraft taxied to the gate under its own power and customers deplaned normally." This incident marks the sixth reported issue involving a Boeing plane within the past week.

Cheryl Casone, a reporter for FOX Business, stated on Thursday morning, "There are some reports that it was a blown tire, but American is not confirming that." When FOX Business sought additional details from Boeing, a spokesperson for the aircraft manufacturer deferred to American Airlines. However, an immediate response from the airline was not forthcoming.

Boeing aircraft have been plagued by a series of unrelated issues in recent days. On Monday, United Airlines Flight 830, en route from Sydney to San Francisco, was forced to reverse course mid-flight due to a fuel leak. The Boeing 777-300 plane was ferrying 167 passengers and 16 crew members when it had to return to Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport in Australia.

In a separate incident a few hours earlier, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner traveling from Sydney to Auckland encountered a technical glitch, resulting in injuries to 50 passengers.

Last week, a United Airlines flight from San Francisco to Osaka, Japan, had to make an emergency landing in Los Angeles after a tire detached from the aircraft, as reported by KTLA. The Boeing 777-20 plane was carrying 235 passengers, 10 flight attendants, and 4 pilots when it took off at 11:23 a.m., the outlet reported.
