Judge Scott McAfee has recently issued an order dismissing six charges from the indictment in the Georgia election interference/RICO case, including three charges against former President Donald Trump.

The order, however, does not address the motions to disqualify Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.

In his order, Judge McAfee stated that the six counts in question, which pertained to soliciting elected officials to violate their oaths of office, lacked the necessary specificity regarding the underlying felony allegedly solicited. This ruling opens the possibility for prosecutors to present a more detailed indictment on the dismissed charges.

The charges that were dismissed included those related to a phone call made by Trump to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger on January 2, 2021. Despite this partial victory for the defendants, the remaining charges in the indictment remain unaffected.

The decision by Judge McAfee is seen as a setback for the prosecution, as they now have the opportunity to refile the charges with more specific details. The judge is yet to rule on the motions to disqualify District Attorney Fani Willis, a decision expected to be made later this week.

As reported by sources, "Judge McAfee has thrown out six counts in the Fulton County indictment of Trump and several codefendants. He says the allegations that the defendants tried to get GA officials to violate their oaths were not detailed enough."
