The Oscars red carpet on Sunday became a platform for Hollywood celebrities to voice their demand for a "permanent ceasefire" in Gaza.

Notable figures such as Billie Eilish, Rami Youssef, and Ava DuVernay were among those who wore red lapel pins in solidarity with the group Artists for Ceasefire.

The Palestinian flag was also prominently displayed, with some attendees choosing to wear pins bearing the flag. This included cast members from the best picture nominee, Anatomy of a Fall, who were spotted with the flag pins at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

The call for a ceasefire in Gaza is being championed by the Hamas terrorist organization, which seeks a pause in conflict to re-arm and replenish supplies for its stated objective of eradicating Israel.

Rami Youssef, actor from Poor Things, articulated his support for a "permanent ceasefire" during a red carpet interview with Variety. "We’re calling for immediate, permanent ceasefire in Gaza. We’re calling for peace and lasting justice for the people of Palestine," Youssef stated. He added, "It’s a universal message of, ‘Let’s stop killing kids. Let’s not be part of more war.’"

The demand for a ceasefire in Gaza from Hollywood celebrities has been ongoing since Hamas initiated its unprecedented attack on Israel on October 7, resulting in the death of 1,200 individuals.

As reported by Breitbart News, a cohort of A-list Hollywood celebrities, including Joaquin Phoenix, Cate Blanchett, Channing Tatum, Jessica Chastain, Andrew Garfield, and Kristen Stewart, penned a letter to President Joe Biden advocating for a ceasefire less than a month after the Hamas attack.
