In a shocking turn of events, Sheldon Johnson, a former convict turned criminal justice advocate, has been apprehended in connection with a gruesome murder in New York City.

Johnson, who had recently shared his redemption story on the Joe Rogan Experience, is accused of killing Collin Small, his erstwhile prison adversary.

The 48-year-old Johnson was arrested last Thursday when body parts of the 44-year-old victim were found hidden in an apartment that Johnson had been seen frequenting in various disguises. As reported by the New York Post, neighbors informed the police that the incident occurred around 8pm on Tuesday at an apartment located at Odgen Avenue and West 162nd Street in the Bronx.

Eyewitnesses recount hearing Small pleading with Johnson, "Please don't, I have a family!" before two gunshots echoed through the building. The building's superintendent alerted authorities after observing a man, who was not the tenant, repeatedly entering and exiting the apartment with cleaning supplies. Surveillance footage later revealed Johnson donning multiple disguises, including a blonde wig.

Upon their arrival, the police thoroughly searched the apartment but initially found nothing suspicious. However, upon their return and subsequent questioning of Johnson, they discovered Small's decapitated head in the freezer and his torso concealed in a blue bin. Johnson now faces charges of murder, manslaughter, and weapon possession and is currently being held without bail.

Johnson, a former member of the Bloods gang, was released from prison in 2019 after serving a 20-year sentence for armed robberies. Upon his release, he joined the Queens Defenders law firm as a staffer, advocating for criminal justice reform. During his tenure, he developed a relationship with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, whose lenient crime policies have been both praised and criticized.

On February 1, Johnson told Joe Rogan Experience host Josh Dubin that he had reformed, stating, "I've been doing bad for so long, I'm going to try to do something good. If all else fails, I can go back to doing something bad." These words now cast a chilling shadow over his alleged actions.
