Former United Nations ambassador and South Carolina governor, Nikki Haley, has officially withdrawn from the presidential race, prompting both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump to make appeals to her supporters.

In a statement released on Wednesday morning, President Biden commended Haley for her courage in speaking out against Trump within the Republican Party. Biden stated, "Nikki Haley was willing to speak the truth about Trump: about the chaos that always follows him, about his inability to see right from wrong, about his cowering before Vladimir Putin." He further expressed his openness to welcoming Haley's supporters into his campaign, emphasizing common ground on crucial issues such as preserving American democracy, upholding the rule of law, and standing firm against adversaries.

On the other hand, former President Trump, utilizing the Truth Social platform, gloated over Haley's defeat on Super Tuesday and invited her supporters to join his campaign. Trump highlighted that a significant portion of Haley's funding and voters came from "Radical Left Democrats," and he urged Haley to continue her candidacy. Trump took the opportunity to thank his supporters and the Republican Party for what he claimed to be the most successful Super Tuesday in history, while asserting his campaign as the greatest movement in the nation's history.

Following her sole victory in Vermont on Super Tuesday, Nikki Haley announced her decision to suspend her presidential campaign. Addressing supporters in Charleston, Haley reflected on her campaign's foundation in love for the country and expressed gratitude for the widespread support received. Despite withdrawing from the race, Haley affirmed her commitment to advocating for her beliefs, emphasizing concerns about the national debt, the necessity of a smaller federal government for freedom and survival, and the importance of standing by allies like Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan.

While acknowledging the likelihood of Trump becoming the Republican nominee, Haley refrained from endorsing him, citing the advice of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher to make independent decisions. She called on Trump to earn the support of those within and beyond the Republican Party who did not initially back him.

President Biden concluded his statement by underscoring the significance of the upcoming election, emphasizing the unity of Americans in their love for the country despite differing political views. Meanwhile, outgoing Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell endorsed Trump as the Republican nominee, despite their strained relationship. McConnell praised Trump's accomplishments during his presidency, particularly in areas such as tax reform and reshaping the federal judiciary.

Looking ahead, McConnell expressed optimism about transitioning from defensive strategies against the Biden administration's policies to proactive measures aimed at improving the lives of Americans. As the longest-serving Senate leader in U.S. history, McConnell's endorsement of Trump signals a unified front within the Republican Party as the presidential race intensifies.
