In a unanimous decision on Monday, the United States Supreme Court ruled that former President Donald Trump can remain on the Colorado primary ballot for 2024.

The court also stated that states do not have the authority to enforce Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution against Presidential candidates. The ruling was a 9-0 decision, with all justices, including those considered to be on the far-left, siding with the conservative judges.

This ruling serves as a direct rebuttal to the Colorado Supreme Court, which had previously suggested that it had the authority to select the Republican candidate for the upcoming election. This approach was likened to the current situation in Hong Kong, where candidates are vetted by China before the vote, a practice that some US Democrats have reportedly endorsed as "democracy."

Following the Supreme Court's unanimous ruling, Colorado's Secretary of State Jenna Griswold appeared on MSNBC, asserting that she understands the law better than all nine Supreme Court Justices. Despite the ruling, Griswold showed no signs of backing down.

This defiance prompted Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) and other Republican leaders in the state to call for Griswold's immediate resignation, accusing her of disenfranchising millions of Colorado voters. They questioned her ability to oversee an election, given her apparent disdain for Republican Trump voters. Boebert and other GOP leaders are now threatening a recall effort against the Colorado Secretary of State.

In a letter addressed to Griswold, they wrote, "With today's unanimous decision by the Supreme Court of the United States to keep President Donald J. Trump on the Colorado primary ballot, it is now even more clear Coloradans should have zero faith in you to adequately protect their right to vote and oversee elections in the state of Colorado. Your attempt to disenfranchise millions of Coloradans and prevent them from exercising their right to cast a vote in support of President Donald J. Trump is a stain on our Republic and an outright embarrassment to Coloradans and Americans."

The letter further criticized Griswold for attempting to remove Trump from the ballot and for allegedly trying to rig the primary election against him. It accused her of failing to uphold the values that Coloradans cherish and of falling short in standing up for election integrity.

The letter concluded, "We The People will not stand for another rigged election, and we will not allow your failure as Secretary of State to go without repercussions. We are actively building a grassroots coalition of Coloradans and Americans to begin the process of holding you accountable for your attack on our elections and the voting rights of millions of Coloradans. All legal options available to us will be considered, including a formal recall effort."

The letter was signed by Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Colorado GOP Chairman Dave Williams, Colorado GOP Vice Chair Hope Scheppelman, and Colorado GOP Secretary Anna Ferguson.
