In a recent episode of HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher," the liberal talk show host, Bill Maher, took a satirical jab at President Joe Biden's advanced age and perceived cognitive decline.

Despite his critique, Maher encouraged the Democratic incumbent to embrace his age, suggesting that it could be a strategic advantage in the 2024 presidential election.

Maher's comments were prompted by a series of headlines from mainstream media outlets, highlighting growing voter concern about Biden's age. As reported by Blaze News, a poll conducted by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research in August revealed that 69% of Democratic voters and 77% of American adults believe Biden is "too old" to "effectively serve another 4-year term as president."

Maher expressed his frustration with the constant focus on Biden's age, stating, "complaining about Biden's age is getting old." He suggested that the 81-year-old president should "lean into" his age rather than attempting to refute it. "Instead of trying to refute all the 'too old to be president' slams, Joe must embrace them," Maher asserted. "Stop with the 'I'm sharper than ever.' Nobody's buying that. Don't try to deny the age thing, lean into it. Lean in, lean in like you're eating soup."

The talk show host humorously suggested that Biden should openly admit his age-related shortcomings. "And just admit it! Say ‘Yes, I’m bad with names and I walk like a toddler with full diaper, but I believe in democracy," Maher quipped.

Maher also criticized what he perceives as inauthentic attempts to pander to voters, citing Hillary Clinton's claim during a 2016 interview at a hip-hop radio station that she always carries hot sauce in her purse. "Americans hate that s**t," Maher declared.

He advised Biden to be authentic and embrace his age, jokingly saying, "You're so old you once fell down the stairs at the Underground Railroad. You're so old, your bad kid with a drug problem is 54."

Maher also criticized Biden's recent attempt to connect with younger voters through TikTok, calling it "inauthentic" and unlikely to succeed. Instead, he suggested that Biden should focus on the older demographic, noting that "almost 72% of people over 65 voted." He humorously suggested that Biden does well with "that 'Matlock' crowd."

Maher encouraged Biden to "let his old fart flag fly" during his upcoming State of the Union address. He then proceeded to give a parody of the State of the Union address, portraying himself as Biden with the aid of a walker.

The talk show host's critique of Biden's age comes amidst a series of incidents that have raised questions about the president's cognitive abilities. These include instances where Biden appeared confused and needed assistance to exit the stage, as well as several mental lapses and gaffes at the G7 summit in June 2021, which led to fellow world leaders openly laughing at him.

If re-elected in November, Biden would be 86 years old at the end of his second term, making him the oldest president in U.S. history.
