In a recent development, Robert Bruce Hucko, a 70-year-old art teacher from the Grand County School District in Utah, was officially charged with a second-degree felony of sexual assault on Friday.

The charges stem from allegations that he inappropriately touched a 12-year-old girl in August. Hucko, known for his frequent left-wing social media posts, is now under scrutiny.

Court documents acquired by KSL reveal that on August 1, 2023, Hucko entered the minor's home while her parents were absent and stayed there. The documents further detail that Hucko presented an art book to the children present, following which the victim led him to the family art room. It was during this time that Hucko allegedly slapped the girl's buttocks.

In a police interview conducted in August, the young girl disclosed that Hucko had made her feel uncomfortable by rubbing her shoulders while she was working on a school project. The police, in their statement, emphasized the gravity of the crime, stating, "This is a serious sexual felony against a child. The suspect's audacity to enter and stay in a home without the presence of parents is alarming. As a teacher, the suspect has access to and trust from numerous children in the community."

Hucko's social media activity, particularly on Facebook, often reflected left-wing and anti-Christian sentiments. One such instance was when he shared a post from the far-left group, Occupy Democrats, criticizing Georgia Governor Brian Kemp's voter ID law. The shared post compared the voter ID law to Jim Crow, stating, "All white men, signing a bill to keep Black folks from voting, under a painting of an infamous slave plantation."

Hucko also shared a post suggesting that white Evangelical Christians were akin to the KKK for their lack of support for Barack Obama. Responding to this post, Hucko wrote, "Thanks for posting this Chris Goetze. I read it, concur and would join his church, but I don't do that. I'm more a 'good without god' sort of person, but he solidly states what I feel those who would berate Barrack and then transgress with Trump."

In another post, Hucko expressed his belief that a significant portion of Republicans would "seek to destroy American Democracy" if given the opportunity. He also shared a post urging Republicans to "Cut the bullsh*t" surrounding Trump, describing him as "dangerously mentally ill, a career criminal, a fascist wanna-be dictator, a brazen corporate raider that intended from the git-go to plunder the nation for the rich, a pathological liar that intended from the git-go to break his every campaign promise to help his base, and no Christian."

Hucko's teaching career began in 1978, as per his website, when he led a workshop for the Utah Arts Council at Montezuma Creek Elementary School in San Juan County, Utah. He credits the school's principal for helping him secure a job in the area. He wrote on his website, “The kids like you, you seem to like them, the kindergarten teacher needs an aide. Do you want the job?” Hucko stated that he "listened to the voice of serendipity and accepted” the job offer.

In the wake of Hucko's arrest in August, Grand County School District Superintendent Taryn Kay assured, "Student safety is our top priority and we are fully cooperating with law enforcement."
