AOC Accuses AIPAC Of Targeting Female Lawmakers With DISTURBING Rhetoric

In a recent online exchange, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez accused the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) of targeting her and other female representatives with disturbing rhetoric

The AIPAC, a pro-Israel advocacy group, had criticized the Democratic representatives' call for a ceasefire amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, which began with the Oct. 7 attacks.

The AIPAC's post read, "A ceasefire now keeps these rapist monsters armed and in power in Gaza," tagging Ocasio-Cortez and other representatives. In response, Ocasio-Cortez quoted the post and accused the organization of "targeting women members of Congress who have survived sexual assault with [the] horrific rhetoric."

Ocasio-Cortez, a representative from New York City, has previously spoken about her experience of sexual assault in the context of political discussions. She first mentioned the incident during the Capitol riots on Jan. 6 and has since referred to it multiple times when the events of that day are discussed.

The AIPAC's post was a reaction to recent reports of Israeli women being sexually assaulted in front of their families on Oct. 7. The reports also detailed instances of rape victims having knives and grenades inserted into their genitals. Eyewitness accounts described the victims being executed and gang-raped in front of their family members on the day of the attack.

The report on the Oct. 7 atrocities stated, “Many cases involve heinous attacks on women and girls, including a case of hiding a knife in a genital organ. The brutal practices used on October 7, such as genital mutilation of girls, women, and men, shooting, and weapon insertion, were designed to destroy and inflict sadistic terror."

The report concluded by stating, “Analysis of the data reveals that sexual and gender-based violence systematically occurred in all arenas where the Oct 7th massacre occurred, as well as in captivity." The exchange between Ocasio-Cortez and the AIPAC underscores the heated debate surrounding the Israel-Hamas conflict and the role of U.S. lawmakers in addressing it.
