In a succinct and pointed message, the Border Patrol Union has taken to social media to express its frustration with President Joe Biden over the escalating border crisis.

The union's message, shared via the National Border Patrol Council account, was brief yet potent, stating, "Dear Joe, You OWN this catastrophic disaster at the border – lock, stock and barrel. You created it. You nursed it along. You encouraged it. You facilitated it. It’s all yours. Don’t run from it now like a coward. Signed, The BP agents you’ve thrown under the bus."

The Border Patrol agents' stance on the issue is unambiguous. They firmly believe that the responsibility for the border crisis lies squarely on the shoulders of the current administration, and it cannot be deflected onto the previous administration of Donald Trump.

The Biden administration has been accused of exacerbating the border crisis, with nearly 9 million undocumented immigrants entering the country since Biden's inauguration. The administration's policies have been criticized for encouraging illegal immigration, with the president accused of providing a range of free services to undocumented immigrants, including food, healthcare, accommodation, medical care, diapers, relocation travel, and even cash. This largesse, funded by American taxpayers, has been met with widespread disapproval.

The situation has further deteriorated with the refusal of Texas Governor Greg Abbott to allow the continuation of illegal immigration in his state. This has led to a shift in the routes used by cartels to smuggle illegal immigrants, with southern California and Arizona now bearing the brunt of the influx. A Fox News report from February 1 revealed that over 71 percent of illegal entries are now happening through California and Arizona rather than Texas.

The Border Patrol's Del Rio Sector, which covers part of the Texas border with Mexico, has seen a significant decrease in the number of illegal immigrants crossing the border daily, from 3,000-4,000 in December to just 200, according to Fox News. This demonstrates the effectiveness of stringent border policing, but it also highlights the adaptability of the cartels in finding alternative routes for their illicit activities.

The influx of illegal immigrants, which has surpassed 8.9 million since Biden took office, has been associated with a rise in violence, crime, and social unrest. This number is larger than the entire population of Arizona. Despite these alarming figures, those who have pledged to address the issue, such as Governor Abbott, are being hampered by legal challenges and criminal cases.

The Border Patrol Union's public criticism of Biden is a significant development, indicating the extent of opposition to the administration's perceived disregard for law and order. The union, which endorsed Trump in both 2016 and 2020, has clashed with Biden on numerous occasions over his approach to border security. In 2021, the union criticized Biden's border security policies as a crisis, even when the influx of illegal immigrants was just beginning.
