President Joe Biden is reportedly considering replacing Attorney General Merrick Garland, following the release of a report by the Department of Justice's Special Counsel Robert Hur, which criticized Garland's handling of the investigation into alleged election interference by former President Donald Trump.

This comes amid growing frustration over the slow progress of the probe.

The Gateway Pundit's Cristina Laila had earlier reported that Biden expressed his displeasure in a rather coarse manner after the release of Hur's report. Biden and his close associates have also criticized Garland for not using his authority to request changes to the report.

According to a report by Politico, Biden is upset that Garland did not prosecute Trump earlier for alleged election interference. This suggests that Biden wanted the case resolved before the 2024 election, potentially to prevent Trump from running. This is seen as a blatant attempt to misuse presidential power.

Politico's report stated: "While Biden himself has not weighed in on Garland’s future, most of the president’s senior advisers do not believe that the attorney general would remain in his post for a possible second term, according to the two people." One of the sources added, "This has been building for a while. No one is happy."

The report further revealed that President Biden has expressed to his aides and advisers his dissatisfaction with Garland's slow progress in the investigation into Trump's alleged election interference. He believes that if Garland had acted sooner, a trial could already be underway or even concluded.

The Gateway Pundit has extensively reported on what it perceives as Garland's abuse of power. Laila pointed out that Garland appointed Jack Smith as special counsel to prosecute Trump shortly after the former president announced his intention to run for the White House in 2024.

Garland also admitted to wanting a "speedy trial" in an interview with CNN, as Trump seeks to delay two trials scheduled to begin on March 4 and May 24. The March trial relates to the events of January 6, where Trump is accused of four crimes, including conspiracy to defraud the United States and obstruction of an official proceeding. The May trial pertains to Smith's attempt to imprison Trump over the possession of "classified documents" at his Mar-A-Lago resort.

Garland has also been criticized for targeting pro-life Americans, peaceful January 6 protesters, and parents voicing their concerns at school board meetings, all in the name of upholding their constitutional rights. Despite this, the White House believes he has not gone far enough.

Garland's tenure as attorney general has been contentious, with some labeling him the worst in American history. The prospect of his replacement, should Biden secure a second term, is a cause for concern for many.
