In a peculiar case from Michigan, a transgender woman's lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend for discarding her surgically removed testicles was dismissed by a judge.

The judge also rejected the ex-boyfriend's counterclaim for humiliation caused by the case.

Brianna Kingsley, 40, had filed a small claims petition last year against her ex-partner, William Wojciechowski, 37. Kingsley claimed that Wojciechowski was in possession of her surgically removed testicles, which were preserved in a Mason jar and stored in a refrigerator. The Pontiac resident demanded the immediate return of her "human remains specimen," along with $6,500 in damages.

"We're talking about my nuts. … I wanted them in my fridge — not his," Kingsley stated during a court hearing. "The damages were the loss of these nuts."

Wojciechowski, on the other hand, claimed he had already disposed of the testicles. He filed a counterclaim for the same amount, alleging that he had been "humiliated" by the widespread media coverage of the unusual case, as reported by the Detroit News.

However, District Court Judge Jeremy Bowie dismissed both their claims during a contentious hearing, referring to the entire matter as "a wash." He added that his decision could not be appealed.

Judge Bowie noted the difficulty in determining potential damages in such an unusual case. "I can put a dollar amount on, say, if you were missing work at $16 an hour," he said. "But as to testicles, I can't really put a number on it."

The judge pointed out that Kingsley had an opportunity to retrieve her testicles when an Oakland County sheriff's deputy accompanied her to her ex-boyfriend's home in January 2023. At that time, Kingsley had just been released from jail, where she had spent three days and was fined $100 for violating a personal protection order Wojciechowski had filed against her.

"We allow a one-time visit with a sheriff's officer in situations like that for people to go back to get their belongings," Bowie explained. "Ms. Kingsley failed to retrieve the testicles from the refrigerator at that time. … If they were so important to her, she had the opportunity to grab them, and she didn't," he stated during the hearing.

Wojciechowski informed the judge that he had disposed of the testicles in July. "They were rotting in my fridge, and it was disgusting — I've got food in there I wanted to eat," he said. "She didn't keep them in a biohazard container like she was supposed to."

Kingsley revealed that her surgery at Henry Ford Hospital in March 2022 cost $20,000, but the state covered the charge as she is disabled. "The state paid for that, you didn't. You're not going to be unjustly enriched," the judge told her.

The pair met on Facebook Community in April 2020 and moved in together in the fall of 2021 in a house bought by Wojciechowski. They ended their relationship in December 2022.

Kingsley explained that she stored her testicles in a jar in the fridge as a way to cope with trauma through humor. "Shakespeare did it," she said.

She attempted to visit Wojciechowski's house a second time after retrieving her belongings, but he denied her entry, claiming she was harassing him. Judge Bowie stated that Wojciechowski had the right to deny her entry as she had already been inside a month earlier.

In a 2022 TikTok video titled "The Unboxing of Dee's Nutz," Kingsley humorously addressed her missing testicles. In the video, she opens a box and removes a bag labeled a biohazard, suggesting they were her testicles, and ends with a dance.

In October 2020, Kingsley pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault and was sentenced to two months in jail after pulling a knife on her then-roommate, also a transgender woman, on Christmas Day.
