In a recent campaign video that has garnered over a million views, Valentina Gomez, a Republican candidate for Missouri Secretary of State, pledged to incinerate books she deems as "grooming, indoctrinating, and sexualizing" children.

The 24-year-old GOP candidate was seen wielding a flamethrower in a backyard, as she set two books alight.

Gomez declared, "This is what I will do to grooming books when I become secretary of state." She further added, "These books come from a Missouri Public Library. When I am in office, they will burn." The video concluded with Gomez brandishing a large firearm, followed by her campaign poster.

The books featured in the video were "Naked: Not Your Average Sex Encyclopedia" by Myriam Daguzan Bernier and "Queer, 2nd Edition: The Ultimate LGBTQ Guide for Teens" by Kathy Belge and Marke Bieschke.

The video was reportedly restricted on certain platforms for violating rules against "hateful conduct." Fox News Digital reached out to Gomez’s campaign for a comment but received no immediate response.

Gomez's post mirrors a similar video featuring Missouri state senator and 2024 GOP gubernatorial candidate Bill Eigel. In his video, Eigel is seen using a flamethrower on cardboard boxes, symbolizing his intent to eradicate leftist policies and corruption.

Eigel stated, "In the video, I am taking a flame thrower to cardboard boxes representing what I am going to do to the leftist policies and RINO corruption of the Jeff City swamp." He further warned, "But let’s be clear, you bring those woke pornographic books to Missouri schools to try to brainwash our kids, and I’ll burn those too - on the front lawn of the governor’s mansion."

Several conservative states, including Missouri, have initiated efforts to challenge or remove books deemed inappropriate for children from school libraries. Missouri is also among over 40 states that have introduced bills since January 2021 to restrict discussions on Critical Race Theory, racism, or sexism in classrooms.
