Nikki Haley suffered a significant setback in the Nevada primary, losing to the unconventional choice of "none of these candidates."

The latest projections indicate that the option of having no candidate at all is currently ahead of Haley.

As of now, Haley finds herself trailing "none of these candidates" by a staggering 30 points. Despite President Donald Trump's absence from the primary ballot, his chances in Nevada remain strong. Trump is expected to emerge victorious in the upcoming caucus on Thursday, securing the state's delegates even without formally participating in the primary.

Candidates were given the choice to either participate in the primary or engage in a caucus organized by Nevada Republicans on Thursday. Trump has opted for the latter, where the allocation of the state's delegates will take place.

Republican Governor Joe Lombardo of Nevada had previously announced his intention to vote for "none of these candidates" on Tuesday. Many Republicans, interviewed as they headed to the polls, expressed their plans to follow suit.

Bruce Parks, Chair of the Washoe County Republican Party and a staunch advocate for GOP caucuses, revealed that he had advised callers, including Trump supporters, to actively participate in the primary by selecting "none of these candidates" over Nikki Haley, according to the AP.

Haley's campaign manager, Betsy Ankney, stated, "We have not spent a dime nor an ounce of energy on Nevada. We made the decision early on that we were not going to pay $55,000 to a Trump entity to participate in a process that is rigged for Trump. Nevada is not and has not been our focus."

Chris LaCivita, a Trump adviser, expressed his bewilderment at Haley's decision not to participate, saying, "If your goal is to win the Republican nomination for President, you go where the delegates are. And it baffles me that Nikki Haley chose not to participate," ahead of the primary.
