Rumors are swirling that prominent conservative commentator Tucker Carlson may be preparing to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Carlson, who left Fox News last year and is now free to interview anyone he chooses, was reportedly seen in Moscow earlier this week, sparking speculation on social media about his purpose in Russia, especially given the increased difficulty for Americans to secure visas to the country.

Internet entrepreneur Kim Dotcom stoked the rumors with a post on social media, stating, "Tucker Carlson is in Moscow to interview Vladimir Putin." However, he offered no substantiating evidence for his claim. He further added, "Uncensored on X. The US deep state and the Biden administration must be in panic mode because Putin (the most censored man in the West) will expose their propaganda and lies."

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene also chimed in on the speculation, suggesting that Democrats were apprehensive about the prospect of such an interview. "Democrats and their propagandists in the media are spasming at the prospect of Tucker Carlson interviewing Putin," she stated.

Greene continued, "They feel entitled to the position of gatekeeper and believe they are the ones who tell you what to think and believe. They HATE when someone like Tucker goes 'off script'. We have a free press in this country and it's people like Tucker Carlson who we depend on to speak the truth!"

The speculation was further fueled by a popular social media personality known as Catturd, who predicted, "If Tucker really does interview Putin - it's going to break the internet."

Several social media users pointed out that mainstream media figures, including Barbara Walters and Charlie Rose, have interviewed Putin in the past, suggesting a double standard in the reaction to the potential Carlson-Putin interview.

Carlson has been vocal in the past about his skepticism towards the West's approach to Putin and Russia. In 2019, he openly expressed his support for Russia in the conflict with Ukraine, stating, "Why do I care what is going on in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia? I'm serious. Why shouldn't I root for Russia? Which by the way I am."

While the rumors of a potential interview between Carlson and Putin remain unconfirmed, the speculation has certainly stirred up a lively debate on social media. The possibility of such an interview, given Carlson's conservative perspective and his previous statements on Russia, has the potential to make significant waves in the media landscape.
