In a recent development, Marjorie Taylor Greene, the Republican Representative from Georgia, has declared her intention to introduce a resolution to censure Ilhan Omar, the Democratic Representative from Minnesota.

Greene's move comes in response to Omar's alleged admission of acting as a foreign agent for another country.

The Daily Caller has procured a copy of the resolution, which is set to be introduced following a controversial speech by Omar. In her address, Omar purportedly stated that her primary responsibility as a Congress member is to safeguard Somali interests. This statement, delivered to Somali leaders in Minnesota on January 27, has drawn significant backlash from her Republican counterparts.

During her speech, Omar, who was communicating in Somali, reportedly did not express her support for the United States. This information comes from a translated version of her speech shared on Twitter by Rhoda J. Elmi, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somaliland. According to the translation, Omar identified herself as "Somalian first, Muslim second" and claimed to be "here to protect the interests of Somalia from inside the U.S. system."

Omar also allegedly stated, "While I am in Congress, no one will take Somalia's sea. The United States will not back others to rob us. So, do not lose sleep over that," as reported by Newsweek.

Greene took to Twitter to announce her resolution, stating, "Today, I'm introducing a Censure Resolution on Ilhan Omar for admitting she's working as a foreign agent for a foreign country. I urge my colleagues to vote to Censure, but I wish I had the votes to expel and deport her."

However, Omar has refuted the accuracy of the translation and subtitles. In a tweet, she said, "It's not only slanted but completely off, but I wouldn't expect more from these propagandists. I pray for them and for their sanity. No nation-state can survive if its states start to get involved in land lease negotiations with other countries without the consent of the federal government. Somalis in Somalia and in the diaspora are united in that effort and I stand in solidarity with them. No amount of harassment and lies will ever change that."
