The ongoing conflict between the state of Texas and President Joe Biden's administration over immigration policy is escalating.

The crux of the issue lies in the Biden administration's perceived reluctance to enforce immigration laws and prevent illegal entry into the country. The administration's stance has led Texas to take matters into its own hands, citing Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution, which states, "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion."

The use of the term "invasion" is not hyperbolic, considering the recent surge in illegal immigration. As reported by Mike Miller, in the past month alone, an unprecedented 371,036 illegal immigrants were apprehended entering the country, surpassing the previous record of 341,392 set in August 2023. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data released on January 26 also revealed a record-breaking 302,034 encounters along the Southwest border.

The situation is further complicated by the lack of thorough vetting of the incoming individuals, some of whom are on the terrorist watchlist. Fox reporter Bill Melugin reported that the CBP confirmed 19 arrests of individuals on the FBI terror watchlist in December, bringing the total to 50 arrests for the fiscal year 2024.

These alarming figures were released on a Friday, coinciding with the significant news about the Trump defamation case decision, leading to speculation that the timing was intended to minimize public attention.

However, the ongoing conflict between Texas and the Biden administration ensures that these figures will not be overlooked. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, in a conversation with Tucker Carlson, accused the Biden administration of not only failing to enforce the law but also of "participating with the cartels in bringing people in," and "affirmatively working with bad people to do bad things to the country."

Paxton asserted that the Biden administration was not complying with its Constitutional duty and was creating its own rules. He warned that this approach was allowing cartels to establish a foothold in the U.S. and build a network that could continue to facilitate illegal immigration even after Biden's term ends.

Despite the threat from the Biden administration, Paxton stated that Texas had not been ordered to dismantle its defenses and would continue to uphold its duty to protect the state.

In a show of solidarity, a trucker convoy led by Dr. Pete Chambers, a retired Army Lt. Colonel, is heading to Texas. The convoy aims to draw attention to the immigration issue through "a peaceful assembly." Chambers, who previously served in the unit currently stationed at Eagle Pass, Texas, expressed his commitment to supporting the soldiers there.

This grassroots initiative underscores the determination of American citizens to protect their country when they perceive the federal government as failing in its duty. However, there are concerns that the Biden administration may attempt to portray this peaceful assembly as a threat or insurrection.

The conflict between Texas and the Biden administration over immigration policy continues to unfold, with other Republican governors and politicians expressing their support for Texas.
