White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre took aim at Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy during Monday's press briefing, baselessly accusing him of political bias.

Doocy had questioned Jean-Pierre about a recent ABC News poll that revealed a decline in Americans' confidence in President Joe Biden's health.

According to the poll, only 28% of Americans believe Biden possesses the mental acuity necessary for the presidency, while the same percentage believes he has the physical fitness required for the role. These figures represent a decline from May 2023, suggesting a challenging path for Biden's re-election bid.

Initially, Jean-Pierre dismissed the poll as "a little confusing" before launching an attack on Doocy, insinuating bias in his line of questioning.

"If you look at what this president has done over the last three years, passing historic pieces of legislation, and when it comes to a bipartisan infrastructure deal, many presidents before, like your favorite president, have said that," Jean-Pierre responded, prompting Doocy to interject.

"Do you know who my favorite president is?" Doocy shot back.

Jean-Pierre responded suggestively, "Why don't we let the American people guess?"

Doocy protested, "No, no, no, no, no, no, no."

Jean-Pierre insisted, "Well, no, no, no, no. Let me finish. Let me finish. Let me finish. You asked me a question. I'm going to—"

"I don't understand what you're getting at," Doocy interrupted.

Unfortunately, Jean-Pierre failed to provide an explanation for her accusation. It was evident that she was insinuating that former President Donald Trump is Doocy's "favorite president," despite Doocy never expressing such a sentiment.

It is worth noting that while mainstream media often portrays Doocy as a mouthpiece for a purported right-wing news network, he is not affiliated with any political party as a registered voter. This fact underscores his commitment to journalism. Politico reported that Doocy was a registered Democrat during his college years.
