President Joe Biden experienced a moment of confusion during a speech in Raleigh, North Carolina, when he mistakenly claimed to have taken a photo with Representative Deborah Ross (D-NC).

"Where's Deborah?" Biden inquired, scanning the crowd for the two-term congresswoman at an event centered on the 2021 bipartisan infrastructure act. "I just had my picture taken with her, that's probably why she left," he initially quipped. However, he quickly corrected himself, stating, "Oh, she couldn't be here actually. That's not true, I got mixed up … She's up in Washington right now."

In a further slip of the tongue, Biden referred to the United States as a "major company" instead of a country. This incident echoed a similar gaffe in 2022 when he asked for the late Representative Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.) at an event, despite having previously ordered flags to be lowered in her honor.

These instances have fueled concerns about Biden's mental acuity, particularly in light of the upcoming November election where he is expected to face off against former President Donald Trump. A New York Times poll conducted in November revealed that 71% of swing-state voters believe Biden is "too old to be an effective president," compared to 39% who said the same of Trump.

Despite these concerns, Biden appeared unfazed during his visit to North Carolina. Known for his love of ice cream, he was seen at a Cook Out burger joint in Raleigh alongside Governor Roy Cooper. "The governor was bragging about your place. He said, 'You have the best shakes in North Carolina,'" Biden told employees, as reported by WRAL.

The President ordered a bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a "black and white" shake, which he described as "triple thick." He also generously covered the bill for other customers in line, including Governor Cooper's M&M shake, according to WRAL.
