The COVID-19 pandemic, despite being three years past, continues to be held responsible for the 20% decline in moviegoers in Hollywood.

According to research compiled by a Hollywood studio, one out of every five moviegoers has disappeared since the pandemic. The Hollywood Reporter, a left-leaning publication, questions whether these moviegoers will ever return to the big screen, and if so, when.

In comparison to 2019, the last year before the pandemic, the domestic box office has seen a 21% decrease. The article, laden with facts and figures, inadvertently provides an answer to the question it poses about the cause of this decline and potential solutions, yet fails to acknowledge this answer.

The solution lies in the success of films such as Spider-Man: No Way Home, Barbie, Oppenheimer, John Wick 4, Top Gun: Maverick, and Sound of Freedom. These titles were major hits during and post-pandemic, primarily because they were films people wanted to see.

The notion that the decline in moviegoers is a mystery is ludicrous. The success of the aforementioned films demonstrates that audiences will still flock to theaters if they find the content appealing. Therefore, attributing the decline in moviegoers solely to the pandemic seems unreasonable. If the pandemic were the sole cause, no film would succeed in theaters.

Moreover, Taylor Swift's successful 2023 concert tour indicates that the demographic of moviegoers is not afraid to gather or leave their homes. Her concerts are filled to capacity.

The article also implies that moviegoers are weary of aging franchises. However, this seems contradictory when the fifth biggest global blockbuster of 2023 was the tenth installment in the 24-year-old Fast & Furious franchise.

The article also suggests that audiences are tired of superhero movies. Yet, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 was the fourth biggest global blockbuster of 2023. If audiences were truly tired of franchises and superhero movies, they would not flock to see any aging franchise or superhero film. Films like Fast X and Guardians became hits because people wanted to see them.

The underlying truth, which is widely acknowledged, is that Hollywood has been attempting to alienate and insult Trump voters (half the country) through cinematic tantrums that belittle and dehumanize them based on their gender, faith, political beliefs, and overall normalcy, ever since Donald Trump won the presidency in 2016.

Hollywood's relentless campaign against decency and decent people accelerated after the murder of George Floyd, with a slew of films where no one behaves or interacts normally. In an attempt to push its social and political agenda, Hollywood has resorted to stereotyping normal people as evil and glorifying BIPOCLGBTQTARDs. Disney is now accused of "queering" children. Indiana Jones is criticized as a colonialist. Luke Skywalker is portrayed as a child murderer. Buzz Lightyear is depicted as a GLAAD crusader. Thor is shown learning to wear an apron.

Furthermore, numerous films glorify sexual deviancy, mental illness, and narcissism as virtues. Most disturbingly, our heroes, the characters that made these franchises successful for decades, are deconstructed, depicted as bigots, and replaced with female and racial minority characters for no reason other than tokenism. As the Equalizer franchise demonstrated, there can be a good reason for this — Denzel Washington is exceptional. However, most of the time, the tokenism is so clumsy and off-putting that it leaves a bad taste, discouraging us from buying a ticket.

The conclusion is clear: the quality of movies has declined.
