In an unexpected turn of events, Tucker Carlson engaged actor Kevin Spacey in a conversation about the 2024 Presidential Election during a special Christmas episode of his show, "Tucker on X."

Spacey, known for his portrayal of the infamous character Frank Underwood in the popular Netflix series "House of Cards," joined Carlson in character, complete with Underwood's signature southern drawl. The actor, who has been largely sidelined due to past allegations of sexual assault, made several references to iconic scenes from the series, sparking speculation about a potential return to acting. Spacey, who has since been cleared of the sexual assault charges, hinted at a possible comeback.

Before Spacey's appearance, Carlson initiated the conversation by stating, "2024 has not even begun yet, and it does seem like the presidential race is effectively frozen in place, if not over ... Is there anyone in this country with 350 million people who could jump in at this late date and re-scramble the calculus of electoral politics?"

In response, Spacey stated, "Well, that's really a decision for the people, Tucker. It's not something that I really think about or want to do. But I've always believed that nothing should be off the table in life or in art. I think we can both agree that we need to get some adults back in the room. So if that means taking on the chief executive role, well that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make for this great nation."

During the interview, Spacey, as Underwood, made references to pushing a journalist in front of a train, a notorious scene from "House of Cards," as well as "doing a line of blow," drinking whiskey, and hitting a reindeer with his car.

When asked by Carlson if he still watches Netflix despite being canceled, Spacey retorted, "Probably as much as you watch Fox," alluding to Carlson's departure from the network. He also claimed that "online trolls" are responsible for more deaths than firearms.

Carlson, intrigued by Spacey's comments, suggested the possibility of an independent run, to which Spacey responded, "I think there's time. I've never been afraid to show up a little late for the dance."

In a further exchange, Carlson questioned Spacey about the reality of his return to work, asking, "Well, that means this is like an episode or is it real?" Spacey replied, "Well, it's probably a little of both. I mean, Tucker, what's true? What's false? What's life? What's art? What's real? What's performance? I love it when these things intersect because then it gets interesting."

Spacey also revealed that the distinctive knocking sound heard when opening the Netflix app originated from his character, Frank Underwood. When asked by Carlson if he believed his influence was still felt within Netflix, Spacey responded, "Well, according to your research, my influence is felt every time every customer opens the app. I'd say that's pretty powerful."

This is not the first time Spacey has unofficially reprised his role as Underwood. He has previously hinted at a potential return in several videos he posted. The seven-minute video of his conversation with Carlson was titled "Being Frank with Tucker" on his YouTube account.
