On Tuesday, a protest led by prominent anti-Israel activist Linda Sarsour took place inside the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, DC.

The demonstrators demanded that the US halt aid to Israel as the nation engages in a conflict with the Iranian-backed Palestinian terrorist group Hamas.

The protest was swiftly shut down by Capitol Police, resulting in the arrest of several participants, including Sarsour. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene captured the incident on video and expressed her disapproval, calling for the arrest and solitary confinement of the protesters, drawing a parallel to the January 6th Capitol riots.

During the demonstration, protesters held up signs and banners with messages such as "The people choose life. Ceasefire now" and "Protect immigrants + asylees." They chanted slogans like "No more weapons, no more war, freedom's what we're fighting for!" and "Not another nickel, not another dime, no more money for Israel's crimes!"

One protester, wearing a pink toque, expressed his discontent with the country. Despite the arrests, the demonstrators continued chanting.

This is not the first time that anti-Israel activists have gained access to federal government buildings to spread their message. In October, a similar protest took place at the Capitol, calling for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. A month later, a group occupied the office of Democratic Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, criticizing her support for military aid to Israel, including the replenishment of Iron Dome air defense system missiles. They labeled her "Genocide Gillibrand."
