In a recent development, Infowars, along with its founder Alex Jones, have been reinstated on the social media platform X, previously known as Twitter.

This reinstatement is part of Elon Musk's ongoing campaign to uphold free speech on the platform. Infowars and Jones were previously banned from the platform in 2018.

Owen Shroyer, the recently released host, expressed his excitement over the reinstatement of the Infowars account, posting, "Wow. The [Infowars] account has also been reinstated. LETS GO!" The last activity on the account before its suspension was a post dated September 6, 2018, linking to an Infowars segment featuring Roger Stone. The caption read, "The Globalists Soft Coup Is In Full Gear."

Upon its return after a five-year hiatus, the account's first activity was to repost a video clip of Jones, accompanied by rock music. The caption of the original post from December 9 read, "Beyond excited for the snowflakes to curl up in a ball and cry over their bowl of crickets when [Alex Jones] is back on X."

Since its reinstatement, Infowars has resumed its activities, posting content for its nearly 400,000 followers. Last week, Musk suggested the idea of letting X users decide whether Jones should be allowed back on the platform.

He followed through on this idea by conducting a poll with the question, "Reinstate Alex Jones on this platform? Vox Populi, Vox Dei." The poll concluded with over 70 percent of the nearly 2 million respondents voting in favor of Jones' reinstatement.

In response to his reinstatement, Jones commended Musk, stating, "He has come out and said he vehemently disagrees with things I have said in the past about that school shooting, but he is going to leave it up to the viewers and the users of X."

As reported by CBS News, Jones and Infowars were previously issued what were intended to be lifetime bans by the former Twitter administration due to numerous tweets and videos that violated Twitter's abusive behavior policy, along with their repeated past violations.
