The suspect, identified as Genevienne Rancuret, 55, repeatedly drove her car into a group of protesters known as Israelis for Christ, resulting in injuries to a 45-year-old man, as stated in a press release from the department. Rancuret fled the scene but was later apprehended by authorities. She now faces charges including eight counts of felony assault with a weapon, DUI, and felony criminal mischief. The FBI is also considering involvement in the case.
Jamee Wagenmann, who witnessed the incident and promptly contacted the police, initially believed that the driver had lost control of the vehicle, according to local media outlet KTVQ News.
"I just saw this white Jeep fly by me and jump onto the sidewalk, heading straight towards the group of people," Wagenmann recounted. "My first thought was that they had lost control and were involved in an accident."

Wagenmann continued, "The driver then entered the Albertsons parking lot and drove straight at them from behind, seemingly trying to catch them off guard. There was chaos, with screaming and honking cars."

According to Wagenmann, the protesters were easily identifiable as they were all wearing purple. The injured man is currently receiving treatment for minor injuries, according to the police.
