Tucker Carlson, the former Fox News host, has publicly declared his support for ex-President Donald Trump in the wake of a search warrant executed by the FBI at Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence last year.

This action, sanctioned by the Department of Justice, led to the seizure of documents and marked a turning point for Carlson, who had previously refrained from actively endorsing political figures.

In a conversation with Roseanne Barr, Carlson revealed his intention to vote for Trump in the 2024 presidential election, should the former president secure the GOP primary. He criticized the current administration, referring to it as the "Biden regime," for allegedly using the Justice Department to target Trump, the president's leading political adversary.

"I certainly support Trump. I'll tell you that," Carlson stated. "I've always agreed with Trump's policies, always, and I lost friends over it. I've never really actively supported anybody because it's not my job to actively support people."

His support for Trump, however, became active following the Mar-a-Lago raid in the summer of 2022. "That just can't stand," Carlson added. He emphasized that his support for Trump transcends personal agreement or disagreement with his policies.

"I agree with Trump on a lot, but even if I disagreed with Trump on a lot, I'd still be a Trump supporter because you cannot allow the regime, the President of the United States, to use the Justice Department to knock the frontrunner out of the race. You can't do that," he argued.

Carlson's commitment to Trump extends beyond the ballot box. He pledged to "lead protests" and make maximum donations to Trump's cause if the former president is convicted in any of the four criminal cases against him. He clarified that his stance would differ if he believed Trump had committed any crimes, which he does not.

Carlson also pointed out what he perceives as a double standard, noting that President Biden was found to possess classified documents, yet "only Trump is indicted."

"Like, tell me how that works," he challenged.

Speculation about Carlson's political future has been fueled by his recent appearance with Trump at UFC 295 in Madison Square Garden. Trump has expressed openness to considering Carlson as a potential running mate in 2024, a move that would undoubtedly stir further controversy and debate.
