In a pointed critique of Rep. Lauren Boebert, President Joe Biden took to the stage at CS Wind in Pueblo, Colorado, on Wednesday afternoon.

The President's 23-minute address, delivered in the heart of Boebert's congressional district, was punctuated by direct attacks on the Republican representative, who had been vocal in her criticism of him on social media throughout the day.

The President's visit to the wind turbine company was marked by a tour of the plant and an endorsement of CS's plan to employ hundreds of additional workers. Biden was swift to highlight the role of his administration's infrastructure law in facilitating this expansion, a law which Boebert and her Republican colleagues unanimously opposed.

"(Boebert), along with every single Republican colleague, voted against the infrastructure law that made these investments in jobs possible and that's not hyperbole, that's a fact," Biden stated.

The President's first mention of Boebert was met with a pause, a sign of the cross, and a smile that drew laughter from the crowd. He went on to criticize Boebert for her initial vote against the infrastructure law and her subsequent efforts to repeal key components of it. Boebert, in her defense, has consistently justified her voting record on the bill, branding the law as an embodiment of "Green New Deal extremism."

Biden's critique comes less than a year ahead of the 2024 general election. In 2022, Boebert secured re-election by a narrow margin against Democratic contender Adam Frisch. Frisch is currently campaigning in the district with the aim of capturing the seat in the next election. However, he was notably absent from Biden's side during the President's visit.

Boebert seized on Frisch's absence, dubbing him "Aspen Adam" in reference to his tenure on the Aspen City Council. She took to social media to question his commitment to his constituents, tweeting, "(Frisch) is so scared of Biden's sinking poll #'s that he declined to join him on the campaign trail in Pueblo today. If Aspen Adam won't show up for his President and Pueblo, how can Third District voters trust he'll show up for them?"

In his address, Biden labeled Boebert as "one of the leaders of (the) extreme MAGA movement." He challenged her characterization of the infrastructure law as a "massive failure," asking the CS Wind employees, "you all know you're part of a massive failure?" He then pointed to the 850 new jobs in Pueblo and the boost to the local economy as tangible benefits of the law.

Boebert, meanwhile, remained active on social media, launching a series of political barbs at Biden and Frisch. On X, formerly known as Twitter, she accused Biden of taking a break from "his lavish vacations" to visit Colorado. She further suggested that the President should be in Colorado to "apologize for his all out war on fossil fuels and his Green New Deal agenda which have cost the great people of Colorado's 3rd District dearly."
