In a recent social media exchange, renowned actress and comedian Roseanne Barr sharply criticized President Biden's approach to the escalating fentanyl crisis plaguing American cities.

President Biden expressed his steadfast commitment to tackling the opioid crisis, stating, "Deaths from fentanyl are an American tragedy that requires global action. I’m committed to doing everything I can to control this crisis – from expanding prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery, to working with Chinese, Mexican, and Canadian partners to tackle this."

Barr, a vocal conservative, retorted to Biden's post with a pointed comment: "Close the f-cking border then, dipsh-t." The actress's response, which suggested that the president's open border policies were exacerbating the fentanyl crisis, resonated with many, even managing to "ratio" the president's original post - a social media phenomenon where a response garners more likes than the initial post.

Supporters of Barr lauded her forthrightness. One user responded, "Every time you open your mouth, I am reminded how much I love you! Keep rockin on Ma'am," while another commented, "Such a simple response, but yet so effective." A third added, "Dear Roseanne, please stop suggesting logical solutions. Thank you for your cooperation."

The fentanyl crisis has been particularly devastating in Democrat-governed cities in recent years, with communities suffering significant impacts. Cities on the West Coast, including Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, have been hit hardest, largely due to local legislation decriminalizing open-air drug use.

Law enforcement agencies attribute the influx of the lethal synthetic opioid to the country's porous borders. The Daily Mail reported that approximately 71,000 American deaths in 2021 were linked to fentanyl and other synthetic drugs, marking a 26 percent increase from the previous year. Fentanyl overdoses have also emerged as the leading cause of death among American youth.

In response to the crisis, the Biden administration proposed a plan in April to clamp down on the synthetic opioid supply chain. However, critics like Barr argue that more decisive action, such as tightening border controls, is necessary to stem the tide of this deadly epidemic.
