Kyle Rittenhouse, the teenager who shot and killed two Black Lives Matter protesters in Wisconsin in 2020, is set to release a book titled "Acquitted."

The book aims to tell the story of Rittenhouse's "survival, resilience, and justice," according to the 20-year-old.

Rittenhouse was charged with multiple offenses, including first-degree intentional homicide, after fatally shooting Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, and Anthony Huber, 26, during a protest in Kenosha. He argued that he acted in self-defense, and in 2021, a jury acquitted him of all charges.

The shooting took place amid protests over the police shooting of Jacob Blake, a Black man, by a white officer. Rittenhouse's trial and subsequent acquittal were highly divisive, with prosecutors portraying him as a trouble-seeking "wannabe soldier," while his supporters hailed him as a patriot standing up against lawlessness.

In an Instagram post to his 260,000 followers, Rittenhouse announced the pre-order availability of his book. He expressed his desire for readers to learn the "truth" and understand his story without any filters or agendas. Rittenhouse's spokesperson stated that the book intends to convey positive messages about his experience in the national spotlight and his journey into adulthood.

Since his acquittal, Rittenhouse has made appearances on Fox News, where he criticized the media and politicians, including President Joe Biden. He has also been warmly received at conservative conferences such as Turning Point USA.

In the meantime, John Huber, the father of Anthony Huber, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Rittenhouse, Kenosha city officials, and the police force, alleging a violation of his son's constitutional rights. Rittenhouse has raised $250,000 in donations for his legal defense fund to fight the lawsuit.

Rittenhouse's book release is expected to reignite the debate surrounding his actions and the broader issues of self-defense, protests, and gun rights.
