In an unconventional marketing strategy, a Florida-based roofing company, Roof EZ, has launched a "Roof and Gobble" promotion, offering customers a free turkey and an AR-15 rifle with every new roof purchase.

The company's President, Jason Polly, hopes the promotion will not only boost business during the winter season but also foster a sense of family unity and home protection.

In an interview with NBC2 News, Polly explained, "The turkey will get you all sitting at the table so you can spend time together. The roof will protect your home, and the AR-15 will protect your family."

The promotion has already shown signs of success. Within two days, Roof EZ sold eight roofs and fielded an additional 50 inquiries about the offer, according to NBC News. The company, based in Cape Coral, Florida, typically sells between 30 and 50 roofs per month. However, with this promotion, they aim to double that figure.

"Everybody should have an AR-15," Polly stated. "Everybody should have the means to protect their homes and their family. It’s not really catered to anybody, any state, any political view, anything like that. It’s all about safety."

Legal representatives for Roof EZ have confirmed the legality of the promotion, stating that the company is collaborating with a local gun store. However, customers can only collect the rifle after the completion of their roof. Those with a concealed carry permit can pick up the gun immediately, while others must undergo a three-day waiting period and a background check. "You have to go through all the proper channels before you can walk away with a gun," Polly added.

The idea for the promotion was inspired by a similar initiative by an Alabama company. Polly believes it's a way to uphold constitutional rights while also boosting business. "I figured, hey, we’re in Florida. This is the most Florida thing you can do. Let’s do it,” he said, as reported by the New York Post.

Polly further stated, "If someone has the means to buy a roof, they have the means to go buy their own firearm. They’re just buying a roof and supporting our Second Amendment right. I support everybody’s First Amendment right. ... They can reciprocate and respect my Second Amendment rights."

The promotion, which includes the turkey and the AR-15, is estimated to be worth around $500.
